Everyone is not struggling

I’ve always been fascinated by relationships. Specifically, the romantic ones … mine and other peoples. What is it that holds relationships together or tears them apart? What attracts certain people to one another and how do they keep that attraction burning? Judging by the excessive number of podcasts, blogs, books, tv shows, online classes, relationship coaches, opinions and unsolicited advice floating around social media and the streets, it’s obvious I’m not the only one fascinated.

Most of us want to find love and to be loved. Whatever that looks like for you. Hence us opening our hearts and entering relationships and marriages. Some of us do it in the hopes of finding our person. The person that sees all of you and all of your quirks and complexities. Yet, they still love your weird ass anyway. It’s a beautiful thing to not only find it for yourself but to also be it for someone else.

I hear both men and women speaking passionately about what they don’t want in a relationship or what their husband, wife or significant other is not doing or how ALL men and ALL women are trifling. Always be careful of using blanket statements because that may not be everyone’s experience. My favorite saying right now is “there’s piss in the dating pool.” I cackle every time I hear it.
